Losing weight from 120kg to 67kg while working a demanding trade was challenging but rewarding. The physically intense job burned calories, yet irregular hours complicated maintaining a routine. I often felt too tired after long shifts to exercise.

Building a routine took trial and error: planning meals ahead, prepping food to avoid unhealthy takeout, and focusing on nutrient-dense foods for sustained energy despite unpredictable schedules. Restricting my intake of the Friday arvo schooner or pub parmi was something I had to really knuckle down.

Exercise for me was the easy part once I got moving. For most of my early training year I was too self conscious to enter a commercial gym. I invested in a home gym and from there built my current physique.

Mentally, patience was key through slow progress and setbacks. This journey transformed not only my body but also my approach to discipline, routine, and self-care. I was able to retune my brain from unhealthy practices to healthy practices that are long lasting.
